The retailer worked closely with Oracle Retail on a modular, phasedimplementation strategy, starting with OracleRetail Data Warehouse and culminating in the roll out of Oracle Retail Store Inventory Management in October 2009.
Results
The Oracle Retail platform has helped enable Galeries Lafayette tocentralise control of core merchandising capabilities, delivering improvedmanagement and integration of its inventory and replenishment processes. This has supported enhancements within the supply chain to ensure anoptimal flow of goods through the network. The Oracle Retail applications provide the company's management withaccurate information on each of its stores, delivering data on margin atitem per store level. This will help Galeries Lafayette to move from retailto cost accounting methods over the next couple of years. Centralised activities around merchandise accounting, the ordering andreceiving of goods, stock levels, supplier management and invoice matchingfor Galeries Lafayette has also delivered significant improvements inorganizational productivity and data accuracy.
