In the middle of September 2009, Antiquorum’s most recent watch and clock auction was led by the exciting bidding around the famed Matsuda collection of four “black and white” platinum cased Patek Philippe watches. The four timepieces, each bid on separately represent very rare watches, each very complex, with two of them setting world records. This latter fact is interesting, because even though prices for watches at auction are significantly down in this depressed economy, Patek Philippe watches continue to fetch surprisingly high prices.
